Was a bachelor & Seaman according to wedding certificate & gave his address as Sheerness Kent
Served on HMS Osprey 4/5/1877-3/6/1881 when she was called to the assistance of Alaska to help put down an uprising of native Americans. Is quite famous in US history.
HMS Duncan was a hulked training ship in 1881 meaning it was not mobile. It was in Chatham in 1890 & may have been in Sheerness in 1882.
Need to establish how Edwin & Julia could have met.
Edwin left the Navy 11/4/1887 & in 1891 was a general labourer.
Per 1891 census family was living at 68 Manor Rd. Dovercourt Essex.
Looks as though They had only moved there about 1890. Before that looks as though they were living in Ipswich.
